DAW Local Scholarship History Including a List of Honorary Scholarships
The DAW branch of AAUW has given Local Scholarships for close to 40 years. Funds have been raised in a variety of “fun” endeavors: auctions, garage sales, crab feeds, and in recent years, the annual Holiday Home Tour and Garden Tour. Recipients will receive a minimum scholarship of $2,000. Over the years, the branch has awarded close to $120,000 in Local Scholarships.
In support of the AAUW mission, our Local Scholarships are granted to local women, but are otherwise granted without regard to age, race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, or disability.
