Instead of holding our usual Third Thursday Program, DAW branch members were invited to be guests of the San Ramon branch at their March program which focused on the current climate and issues surrounding public education in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD). The program was led by DAW Policy Chair Laurinda Ochoa, in her additional capacity as a member of the AAUW CA School Board Project Team. SRVUSD Board President Laura Bratt was interviewed by Ravneet Julka, local PTA leader, parent, and attorney. The specific calls to action included:
Educate – Educate people you know about the May 7 vote on parcel tax Measures E & F. Visit the Yes on E & F website to learn more about why these measures are vitally important for our schools – click here.
