2024 School Board Election Education Programs
Candidate Forums
Election season is underway!
During this important and historic cycle, a team from DAW worked with the League of Women Voters, the PTA, and with our neighboring branch, AAUW San Ramon, to hold non-partisan school board candidate forums for the San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD) and the Acalanes Union High School District (AUHSD). These three sessions, moderated by the League of Women Voters, provided a great opportunity to meet the candidates and hear directly from them about their positions on critical issues facing the school districts.

San Ramon Valley Unified School District School Board
Tuesday, Oct 1, 10:00 am
This event was hosted by the AAUW San Ramon Valley and the AAUW Danville-Alamo-Walnut Creek Branches. The four candidates for SRVUSD Board of Education trustee positions were featured. They are:
– Shelley Clark, Area 2
– Karin Shumway, Area 2
– Laura Bratt, Area 3
– Sukriti Sehgal, Area 3
Contra Costa Television was present and recorded the SRVUSD candidate forum event. They will air the recording starting on Oct 7 on the following days and times:

- Mondays at 9:00 AM
- Fridays at 7:00 PM
- Saturdays at 1:00 PM

Wednesday, Oct 16, 6:30 pm
This event was hosted by the San Ramon Valley Council of PTAs and the AAUW DAW branch. The four candidates for SRVUSD Board of Education trustee positions were featured. They are:

– Karin Shumway, Area 2
– Laura Bratt, Area 3
– Sukriti Sehgal, Area 3

Acalanes Union High School District School Board
Thursday, Oct 17, 7:00 pm
This event was hosted by the Las Trampas Creek Council PTA and the AAUW DAW branch. The following six candidates running for two board positions were present.
