January 2026 Community Program – Ninth Grade Cohort Learning

Third Thursday Community Program

Remember ninth Grade? It’s all different now! Come to the DAW branch’s program on January 15 to learn about the innovative Freshman Interdisciplinary Cohort Model in San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD).

The vision of the Cohort Model is to create a transformative educational environment where students and teachers flourish through meaningful, collaborative, and innovative practices. In SRVUSD, the effort is three years old and thriving with enthusiasm and impact! Join DAW to hear from students and teachers about how learning and innovation is growing!

Cohort Learning is an interdisciplinary approach to education where groups, or cohorts, of students are formed and the students attend classes together. Themes in the teaching curriculum are then coordinated and carried over across various subjects to provide an integrated learning experience.

Policy for Attending Branch Functions

If you are feeling ill in any way or have been in close contact with someone known to have COVID or any other significant communicable disease, please do not attend any meeting!

We encourage you to be considerate of everyone attending a function, some of whom might be more susceptible than others. COVID exposure remains a serious issue. If you have any doubts, test, wear a mask, and err on the side of caution.

While there are inherent risks in attending any in-person event, with your help we will do our best to keep everyone safe at our meetings.
