Caring for the Branch, Caring for Ourselves

About 30 members gathered for the Third Thursday Member Meeting on November 16 to experience the program titled “Caring for the Branch, Caring About Ourselves”. The evening started with the usual tasty treats and beverages provided by the Hospitality Committee along with opportunities to get involved in branch and AAUW advocacy initiatives.

Then the more formal program began with interesting question and answer segments about all of the branch’s important areas, including the history of the branch itself, Tech Trek, Local Scholarships, and Public Policy. Co-President Ogie Strogatz serving as the emcee with Tena Gallagher, Deborah Wechsler, Lee Garverick, Chris Ritter, Robin Halloran, and Laurinda Ochoa taking part in the segments.

After engaging their brains with lots of great information about DAW, attendees took part in a very relaxing “chair” yoga session, led by Praveena Chinthaluri. It was a wonderful way to wind down the evening.
